UWI Ultrasonic Wound Irrigation System

The Debriflo ~ UWI Ultrasonic Wound Therapy System mixes ultrasonic energy for selective dissection and fragmentation of tissues, coupling with saline irrigation at the wound bed. The ultrasonic waves penetrate down into the dermis at least 1 cm enabling removal of debris, exudates, fragments and other matter firmly embedded under unhealthy granulation through cavitation and streaming of the saline solution.  The action of mechanical debridement reduces the glyco matrix surrounding the biofilm and also damages the cell wall of organisms.

The UWI Ultrasonic Wound Irrigation System provides:

  • selective, precise and gentle fragmentation of soft and hard tissues.
  • preservation of healthy tissue through ultrasonic separation of damaged tissue.
  • cleansing of the wound area with less pressure and pain.
  • stable delivery of ultrasound energy during procedure.
  • reduces the number of colonised organisms in the wound base, reduction in pain, oedema and fibrous slough in the wound base.

The UWI Ultrasonic Wound Therapy System has distinct advantages:

  • does not require expensive consumables.
  • it is lightweight and easy to mobilise between clinical units.
